No video this week due to us having a little break and prepping for season 2! Thanks so much to everyone who has given us feedback so far, it’s been really helpful and interesting, if you do have any ideas there’s still time to send them our way.
This week we spent a whole day strategizing over every aspect of Boxtape, to see how we can improve things and just generally become better musicians and creators.
There are a few things we want to change but our core Youtube content will be staying the same and obviously, the music will still be awesome!
We did film a little rundown/preview of our ideas so we may release that soon. Some changes are ongoing, some immediate and some won’t be relevant for a while, but we’re working on the immediate stuff immediately so we can bring you season 2 ASAP.
What’s all this about seasons? Well, we wanted to see how we can mix things up. So we’re taking some time to think about how things could be awesomer for you, put some new plans in place and have fun making music and videos moving forward. And, some TIPS! While we’re not superpowered YouTube experts, we wanted to take the opportunity to share a few things that we’ve learned that might be interesting or come in handy to anyone else trying the same thing! Because we love you!
You, dear friend, are a part of our inner circle. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video, and we hope you’ve enjoyed clicking around FB/YouTube a bit and watching some of our videos. There’s more to come – and if you want to help us out by telling us what you’ve enjoyed the most, please leave a comment.
This weekend has been pretty busy for us, Saturday we filmed a new music video on top of Devil’s Dyke which was beyond beautiful! We got so lucky with the sunset, the mist, the colours, honestly, some of the footage we have is just gorgeous.
Sunday we played a gig at The Cowley in Brighton for Paul Stapleton as part of a folk/punk weekender and it was a great way to spend Sunday afternoon. It was like playing a gig in your friends living room, completely chilled, intimate and we met some awesome peeps!
Thanks to Paul for putting us on, and thanks to Sarah-Kye Faulkner for the behind the scenes photos, roadie duties, additional cameraman and general band helper outer, you’re awesome
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been experimenting with this beautiful cigar box guitar, loops, synths and cajons to craft something special. It’s SO nearly there now, we wanted to share this mini-documentary behind the scenes of the writing/composition/production process. ENJOY!
So last weekend we performed at Dart Music Festival which kicked off our summer run of gigs! As is customary for us now, we filmed it! We’ve put together a vlog about the whole experience, including some live footage from our set, some awesome bands we found and some beautiful scenery!
It’s been a lovely few days here down in the south of the UK and we couldn’t stand to film in the studio, so this week we’ve been working on our first outside shoot!
We randomly took off to the beach and filmed, wrote and performed a brand new song in the space of a couple of hours. An exercise in snap decisions. Here’s a couple of behind the scenes photos courtesy of Sarah-Kye Faulkner and a shot from the video which is currently in the final stages of editing!
Full video (I guess you could call it a lyric video) coming in the next 24 / 48 hours
